Amaretto MVNZ’s sire Pico Bello was imported to New Zealand as a 5 yr old to begin a career in showjumping as well as standing at stud. He was very successfully campaigned in sport by Mount View rider Ike Unsworth up to Grand Prix level. He was then sold to Australia, continuing his success with many wins and placings in World Cup and Grand Prix classes under David Dobson.

Pico Bello’s sire, Calvados is bred from the best of French Performance stock. The sire of Calvados, Uriel produced more than 100 International SJ horses. The dam of Calvados, Gold Rose was a member of the French SJ Team and won many notable Grand Prix. Pico Bello’s dam, Zellie is by Joost, the Holsteiner stallion that is one of the founders of Dutch Show Jumping breeding. In combination with Abgar, as seen in Pico Bello’s breeding, Joost has produced a large number of International Show Jumping horses.

Dam, Vivacious is by Voltaire II, who is a Dutch Warmblood stallion, standing an impressive 17HH. Born in 1992, he was imported to New Zealand in 1994 by a syndicate of some of the foremost breeders in New Zealand.He represents the most modern Dutch breeding, being by Voltaire- sire of the decade 1990-2000, out of a mare by Nimmerdor- sire of the Century (20th).

Amaretto MVNZ is a full brother to Boston MVNZ.

Amaretto MVNZ – owned and successfully competed by Lisa Cubitt to GP level – was recently sold in Australia.
