Solette VDL was imported from VDL Stud in 2002 and was purchased not only as a breeding proposition but also as a potential competition horse. Unfortunately, due to injury early on in her showjumping career, she was retired as a broodmare. 

Grand dam Shoraya is a VDL stud foundation mare. Shoraya is by the famous Irish thoroughbred Ladykiller. Bought as a yearling from Germany she went to Holland in 1977 and produced a string of champion offspring. Among them was Dhelia, Quality Boy, Zancara, Great Pleasure and Montreal.

Solette VDL herself has produced very accomplished sport horse progeny. Her first foal Wimbledon MVNZ went to Belgium in 2011 and competed comfortably around European 1.60m classes. He came second in a Rolex class in Belgium and was on the Belgian Nations Cup squad. Eldorrado MVNZ is now competing in Europe under Lieven Devos . They won the Morsele Gold Grand Prix 1.45-1.50m in Belgium and have had many victories at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour - Oliva Nova Spain from 2018 to 2020. Gabriel MVNZ is competing at CSI1* level in Australia with his owner and rider Angela Dobbin.
