Spiritus MVNZ is a very athletic type with a lot of presence, very good movement and loads of elasticity.

He is owned and competed by Melissa Marriner. Carrer highlights include a 2nd in the GP Super series at Woodhill Sands (02/2019), winning the 1.20-1.25m class at Woodhill Sands (12/2018), 5th in the 1.30m class at Eastern Bay Show Jumping (10/2015) and many placings at Pro Amateur classes.

Breeding

Dam Delaney LS is by Distelfink, a Hanoverian stallion by Diskus. Distelfink was licensed as a breeding stallion in Germny prior to importing into New Zealand in 1982. Distelfink produced Horse of the Year Winners, Young Horse of the Year, Show Hunter of the Year and national champions in dressage and eventing. He was 3rd on the WBCSH/FEI sires list for event horses in 1997/98 season.

Sire Senator VDL was bred at the world famous VDL Stud in Holland. On both sides of his family, he has very potent jumping blood: Corland, Cor de la Bryere, Landgraf, Voltaire and Nimmerdor. His progeny out competing are scopey and careful and are competitive sporthorses both in showjumping and eventing. Senator VDL is sire of the top New Zealand eventing horse, Balmoral Sensation, who was placed 5th at the Badminton Horse Trials 2016 and 6th at the Rio Olympics.

Senator VDL’s progeny not only inherit his wonderful temperament, but he is producing foals with correct conformation, lovely heads and a strong topline. His progeny are showing great technique, with loads of scope when jumping.
